DWARF DRIVER KEVIN BREWER
WINS ALL THREE EVENTS AT JRP SPEEDWAY!
The dwarf division ran a total of three races here at
JRP Speedway this Saturday night, and Kevin Brewer of Owasso
won all three. CONGRATULATIONS KEVIN!
In the heat race, Kevin passed early
leader Rick Quinn on lap 7 to take the win. In the” Dash for
Cash” , Alex Bachtell held the lead for the first 4 laps,
until he was passed by Rick Quinn who held the lead until
the getting edged by Brewer on the last lap. In the 20 lap
main event, Kevin grabbed the lead from pole sitter, David
Cummins on lap 2 and never looked back. The only other car
on the lead lap was the 30 machine of Mike Evans coming in
second. The lapped cars were in order of Kelly Brewer, Tyler
Bachtell and David Cummins, The 01 of Rick Quinn and the 25
of Alex Bachtell left the competition early in the race.
In the Can-Am division, it was once again little
Jacob Ford leading from start to finish, also winning his
heat race, gives Jacob a clean sweep two weeks in a row!
Alexis Holleyman, piloting the #5
Can Am passed the #24 Gavin Moore on lap 5 to go on
and take second. Gavin fell to third.
Colby Anderson took fourth, Keith Pleasant took
fifth, Jeffrey
Few took the sixth spot, and Victory Holleyman took seventh.
Herb Adkins, driving the #00 Mighty Mini Stock took
over the lead from pole sitter and early leader #9 Matt
Hopkins on lap 8 to go on and win his second A feature.
Matt fell to take second place. Matt was followed
closely by Phillip cook in the 11x, and newcomers. #24 Marco
Alemon of Altus, and Roger Miller in the 33 car.
In the Pro -4 class, again with only 2 cars we put
them in with the mini stocks. Brett Fuller drove his way
into the winners circle once again, followed by Billy Cook.
In the factory stock division, it was the amazing
adventures of Chris Ford!. On the start lap of the heat
race, Chris and the #10 of Tyler Lane made contact on the
front stretch of the start lap, overcorrection and ended up
trying to drive over the fence! Chris not only managed to
destroy his car, but the fence and even the concrete wall
was left in pieces.
We thought he would be done for the night. But.....
when the factory's roared onto the track for the main event,
there was Chris second row inside! Driving only a frame of a
car. I thought he would make a lap or tow and exit the
track. But by the second lap he was in the lead.
Chris maintained the lead position for the entire 25
laps to take the checkered flag! The #52 of Jeremy Allen
held on for second, followed by Dann Gray, and Jimmy Kirby.
The #55 machine of Gregg Overstreet rounded out the
top five by leaving the track on a previous lap.
#10 Tyler Lane and the #7 of Jim Estes encountered
mechanical difficulties and exited the track early in the
race.
It was a short night, but an exciting one!
After the race show JRP put on a great fireworks
display. We
would like to thank all the drivers and families who donated
money to allow us to purchase the fireworks.
Be sure to join us next week, for our regular
program, followed by more fireworks again.
See you at the races!
